Post-Treatment Considerations for Empress Crowns

  • After placement, soft tissues such as the tongue, cheeks, and lips may feel a sense of foreignness, thickness, or bulkiness. This usually subsides within 2–3 weeks

  • Temporary speech lisping may occur post-treatment and typically resolves within 2–3 weeks

  • A feeling of height or premature contact may be sensed; a follow-up appointment should be made for adjustments

  • Mild sensitivity in the first few weeks after bonding is normal

  • Avoid extremely hot or cold foods and drinks, as they may increase sensitivity

  • Avoid sticky or hard foods such as gum, Turkish delight, jelly candy, or dried apricots
